Thank you for your interest in participating in the pre-print production of my next book in the Magdalena’s Bones series. This book is entitled MR JOHNSON – the story ARC deals with the conclusion of the ‘Mr Johnson’ storyline already published within Magdalena’s Bones.

Beta-readers are an important composite to every fictional author worth their salts. Beta-readers provide feedback to the author, who can then modify the manuscript based upon reader comments and thoughts. Once this necessary step is completed the manuscript can then be given to a professional editor for final edits – which includes proofreading for spelling and grammar. Indie self-publishing is a long grinding process that has many merits over traditional publishing – publishers usually undertake this type of production work on behalf of the author… which is why authors see such little financial return through traditional publishers.

If selected, you will receive a free manuscript released to you chapter by chapter. This is the most effective work procedure as this method allows changes to be made by the author without having to handle too many suggested edits going back too far into the manuscript’s chapters. For example, changes in say chapter 4 can have huge consequences for chapters pre and post chapter 4.

Please note as follows…

  1. You will need to have pre-read Magdalena’s Bones. This will allow you to fully appreciate the storyline plots. The links to secure a copy of Magdalena’s Bones thru Amazon are given below.
  2. I will provide you with a FREE printed paperback copy of MR JOHNSON when finally published. You will also be named in the credits if you so wish.
  3. A synopsis of the proposed storyline will be sent to you, along with the draft manuscripts.
  4. Publication is planned for early 2025 – actual dates can drift for a number of reasons tho I will endeavour to keep you informed.
  5. There are no specific qualification requirements tho some experience of beta-readership would be useful – the wider the spread of reader backgrounds the better – tho please bear in mind the vast majority of readers of Magdalena’s Bones are female. Male readers are most welcome tho the subject material is somewhat controversial, therefore we will drill down into male reactions in some detail.
